The People Who Make It Happen

The approval of Lakeland Montessori Schoolhouse was made possible through the tremendous support of our community. We received many letters of support for the application and are continuing to receive generous donations of time and effort in the operation of our school. The opportunity that we have been granted to provide a no-fee Montessori educational choice within the public school system brings with it great benefits to our community.

The Board of Directors will continue to develop LMS and its staff based on the premise that excellence in education requires:

• An extraordinary commitment on the part of the family, school, and community members. The central focus of LMS is the belief that families are ultimately responsible for their child’s growth and development.
• Teachers who keenly observe, diagnose, and prescribe a personalized education plan for each learner that is cooperatively developed and regularly evaluated by the teacher, parent, and child.
• Extension of the classroom out into the community, creating a web of exchange among community members, family, and teachers.
